This year’s Agriculture show is aimed at promoting Agriculture as a profession.
Principal Agriculture Office Nacanieli Takele says agriculture is a choice for those who do not currently have a job.
Takele says it is better to be using up idle land and making a living than to wait for white collar jobs which is quite difficult to get nowadays.
“There are alot of idle land lying around Fiji and at the same time there are a lot of markets opening up for our farmers. Ginger market opening up in NZ. The dalo market – which we have not been able to meet, opening up in China. The pineapple market is opening up – opportunities for those who are looking for work now to make a living for themselves."
This year’s agriculture show will be held in Lautoka from September 3rd to the 7th with the theme “Agriculture for Fiji’s Health and Wealth.”
