The South Pacific Tourism Organisation is looking into developing niche marketing which includes the promotion of specific segments such as the fishing and dive market.
Speaking to FBC News the SPTO Chief Executive Officer Ilisoni Vuidreketi says they are now looking into these markets to bring in more tourists not only to Fiji but to the region as well.
He adds that culture remains to be the most sought after attraction for travellers across the region.
The SPTO is therefore in the process of finalizing a research report on cultural tourism in the region.
This will be shared with all key tourism stakeholders to assist them in sustainably growing the industry whilst still maintaining their cultural heritage.
Meanwhile SPTO is positive about targeting its new market in the Asian region.
Fishing, Diving, Romance and Relaxation also tops the list of things to do across the South Pacific.
