Tropical Cyclone Kofi moves away

Tropical Cyclone Kofi has intensified as it makes its way away from the Fiji group.
Director Meterology – Alipate Waqaicelua says, this means that rain is expected to ease in Vanua Levu and Taveuni.
“As of 3pm today, Tropical cyclone Kofi with the intensity of 35 knots a category one was located about 450km east south east of Suva or 300km west of Nukualofa in Tonga. Its is moving steadily towards south south east at about 24 km / hour and at this stage does not pose any direct threat to Fiji.”
Waqaicelua says that Tropical Cylone Kofi is lying to the east of the Southern Lau Group and is moving away towards the south east and will not be affecting the Fiji group.
