Council welcomes amendments to Decree

The Consumer Council has welcomed the Legal Practitioners Amendments Decree 2012.
Chief Executive – Premila Kumar says the move will benefit the consumers and will provide a fair platform for financial settlements provided by the courts.
Kumar says it will also serve as a protection to consumers who are often taken advantage of by some lawyers.
The Council had received numerous complaints against such lawyers who charge exorbitant fees for years.
