Vendors trained on food hygiene

Suva food stalls owners are being trained on how to maintain healthy standards.

Senior Health Inspector Samu Bolalailai says this is part of the ministry’s strategy to create awareness on the Food Safety Regulations.

“The main purpose of this training is to actually create a lot of awareness and empowering food business operators on the knowledge of how best they can prepare or offer foods for sale.”

Bolalailai says food operators who breach the condition after the training will be fined of $10,000 or face 5 years imprisonment.
