The Water Authority of Fiji has provided an amnesty period for those still illegally connecting water pipes to the reticulation system to ensure no one is taken to court.
WAF Chief Executive Officer Opetaia Ravai says 800 illegal connections have been detected by the authority and the hope people will make use of the amnesty period and pay their bills.
We not going to let it go but we are providing this amnesty period for people to come and talk to us and make sure their connections are regularise .It legally connected to the system and at the end of the amnesty period we hope that we will not take anybody to court"
A fine of $1000 with other penalties can be imposed if people still don’t pay their bills come August 14.« Back to Home« More Fiji News
