Judge overrules on Qarase application

High Court Judge Priyantha Fernando has overruled an application from the lawyers representing former FHL Director Laisenia Qarase to do away with the agreed facts.
The court ruled that the agreed facts filed before the court was agreed by the accused and it was confirmed in a letter dated 07th and 14th of October.
The trial proper will now start tomorrow.
Qarase is charged with six counts of abuse of office and three counts of discharge of duty with respect to a property in which he has a private interest.
