Tidal waves sweep in Tokou village, Levuka

Tokou Village in Levuka,Ovalau is currently facing the devastation of huge tidal waves.
Teresia Heritage, a resident ofTokou told FBC News says this is the first time for them to see tidal waves.
Heritage says tidal waves have started entering houses which has resulted in flooding damaging their belongings.
She says more than 10 houses have been destroyed due to strong winds and waves and, the whole village has been evacuated at the community hall.
She says some have even moved to higher grounds.
Confirmations have also come in that water level in the community hall has now receded giving them the chance to find a place to sleep tonight.
Heritage says that at the moment Tokou looks like an ocean however is fortunate that there has been no loss of life or injuries.
