Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has urged all businesses to make submissions to the Constitution Consultation.

Speaking at the business forum yesterday Sayed-Khaiyum says most business people do not participate in the political processes in Fiji.

“They have always shied away from it and that is a fact. They either tend to be those people who participate are those who are the elites probably about four five business houses in Fiji who will have political influence and then they will go and make submissions through that but nobody has the gall to actually standup and make the submission before the commission.”

Sayed-Khaiyum says businesses, accountants and professionals should make submissions on what they believe should be issues pertaining to governance of Fiji.

“You cannot participate in such a forum like this and then shy away from the main forum that determines the rules under which you will be governed.”

Businesses have also been urged to register themselves to participate in the 2014 elections.
