Fiji nationals residing in Brussels in Belgium are safe.
FBC News has been able to confirm that the Fiji’s Ambassador to Belgium and European Union Representative Deo Saran was away in Morocco at the time of the incident.
Other consular staff and Fijians have also being reported safe.
Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola currently away in Australia in a tweet this morning sent his condolences.
Kubuabola wrote that his thoughts and prayers are with families of those who lost loved ones or have been injured at despicable terrorist attacks in Brussels.
Head of the EU Pacific Delegation, Ambassador Andrew Jacobs also took to twitter sharing the similar sentiment saying the European Union mourns the victims of today’s terrorist attack.
US Ambassador Judith Cefkin tweeted that the US stands in solidarity with Belgium and Europe.
