Fiji ready to host 2012 Asia Pacific Sugar Conference

Fiji is ready to host the 2012 Asia Pacific Sugar conference at Denarau in Nadi next week.
Sugar Ministry Permanent Secretary, Colonel Manasa Vaniqi says the conference will be organized by the sugar industry in corporation with the food and agriculture organization which is based in Rome and the associated organizations including the ISO based in London.
Presentations on topical issues, on the changing economic and policy environment in major sugar producing and consuming countries of Asia and the Pacific region.
Vaniqi says the conference will focus on the market outlook and over view of sugar policies.
The conference will also cover the impact of ongoing policy reforms on the world sugar market with government’s response to the crisis faced in Fiji.
The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will deliver the key note address.
