ANZ Bank statements in PNG confirmed that transfers were made by suspended Opposition MP Isoa Tikoca to St Jospeh’s College in Australia where his son was studying while he was Fiji’s High Commissioner to PNG.
This was revealed by the third prosecution witness in the case against Ratu Isoa Tikoca in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.
Uate Biutanaseva, FICAC Team Leader Investigation, appeared before Magistrate Makereta Mua where he was asked in detail by FICAC Prosecutor Rashmi Aslam of the bank statements for the High Commission of Fiji in Papua New Guinea.
Biutanaseva visited PNG during the course of the investigation to obtain source documents relating to Tikoca’s case.
He told the court that he obtained Tikoca’s son’s education allowance payment documents and ANZ bank statements which belonged to the Fiji High Commissions account.
The ANZ Bank statements confirmed the transfers that were made to St Joseph’s College in Australia where Tikoca’s son was studying.
Tikoca is charged by FICAC with failing to declare his liabilities before the 2014 General Elections.
The trial continues.
