The Fijian Parliament will for the first time host the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum bringing together 23 member countries with more than two hundred delegates.
Speaker of the House, Dr. Jiko Luveni, says among the key discussions will be bridging the gender gap and getting more women into parliament.
“Peace and security for the Asia Pacific region and the international community as the theme for this forum we’ll be having here next week, so under that broad theme, the participating countries have been given a lot of information on this before-hand so that they can prepare resolutions that they would like to implement."
Government is providing around $800, 000 towards the event which will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sigatoka.
