Cuvu back road lights up
Report by: Rachael Nath
One hundred and five street lights were commissioned by Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama in Sigatoka last night.
Economy Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says more than four thousand people of Cuvu back road can now feel safer while out on the streets at night.
“To give our people the freedom to go about their lives late in the evening without having to worry about the dangers of walking about in the dark.”
Sayed-Khaiyum says these street lights also serve as an economic boost for Cuvu because people can sell produce into the night and not worry about security.
This project cost the government five hundred and eighty-two thousand, dollars.
This is only one section of the Government’s western division street lighting program – throughout the year there are plans to bring light to other communities.
