A Former Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption officer appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court today facing corruption related charges.
40-year-old Peniasi Mualaulau is charged with three counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception and three counts of serious computer offense.
It is alleged that on 26th November 2016, Mualaulau by deception dishonestly obtained $800 from Josaia Bainivanua for his overseas travel arrangements which he failed to honor.
He then allegedly obtained $1,500 from Luke Masirewa and $1,500 from Kolinio Nakarawa between the 1st and 31st December last year promising them to arrange their overseas travel.
Later, Mualaulau is alleged to have modified electronic airplane tickets under his name held in a computer, changing it to Bainivanua, Nakarawa and Masirewa’s name.
He is on bail and the matter has been adjourned to the 20th of next month.
