Flame Tree Developments eyes road construction
Report by: Ellen Stolz
Fijian owned Flame Tree Developments (Fiji) Limited is aiming to expand its business to now include the construction of roads.
Established in 2002, the business is a civil engineering company and has two major quarries in Fiji namely in Saru Lautoka and Suva, that manufacture and supply the full range of products for a wide variety of projects ranging from small residents to large commercial developments and massive aid-funded road projects.
Company General Manager Andrew Naylor says the company has over the years seen a boom in Fiji’s economy.
He adds while the company works closely on various road projects around Fiji, it would also like to try its hands at this type of work.
“We did the Asco intersection for Higgins in Nadi and we have got a lot more capabilities and capacities now to take on more of that work and I think over the next couple of years we will see the main contractors like Higgins move aside and some of the local contactors take over some of that work.”
The Nadi-based company employs around 120 local staff and Naylor says he is optimistic about the continuous growth and expansion of the company.
