Fiji’s strong relations with China have reached another level with the arrival of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Wu Bangguo.
It has opened doors for more funding from China and closer bilateral ties as the two countries signed a deal for a $200 million from China.
Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Colonel Pio Tikoduadua says the agreements were signed signifying China’s commitment to assist Fiji as a developing country.
Signed today was the future concessional loan from China and a $200 million for the 70km of roadwork from nabouwalu to Dreketi.
According to the Fiji government, China – unlike Australia and New Zealand hasn’t isolated us – nor has it tried to intervene in political issues.
