Fuel prices to increase

Fuel prices will increase from midnight tonight.
Minister for Trade – Faiyaz Koya says this is because of a cutback in production by OPEC countries as well as fluctuations in international currencies.
From tomorrow, Motor spirit will increase by 12 cents going from one dollar eighty three cents to one dollar and ninety five cents.
Premix will increase from one dollar and sixty seven cents to one dollar and eighty cents.
Kerosene goes up 10 cents to one dollar and thirty six cents and Diesel will be one dollar and sixty cents.
LPG prices will also increase, a four point five kg cylinder will cost fourteen dollars and fourteen cents, up more than two dollars.
A 12 kg cylinder will increase by five dollars and sixty cents to thirty seven dollars and seventy one cents.
Commerce Commission CEO – Joel Abraham says their officers will be out to ensure businesses are complying with the increase and not over-charging.
