More than one point eight million dollars has been allocated for Medical Superintendents and District Medical Officers to use for minor works in the facilities they manage.
Rosy Akbar says this is part of the major programme to support improvements in the hospitals, health centers and nursing stations.
_"They won’t be funding major developments or new buildings but rather using the money for those smaller items which can make a big difference to patients’ and staff’s day-to-day experience. I expect to see some changes starting to happen soon."
Minister for Health and Medical Services revealed this during the opening of the newly renovated Navua hospital kitchen.
