Defense wants Former CID Director’s case transferred to High Court

The Defense Counsel in the case of the Former Director Police CID Luke Rawalai wants the matter to be transferred to the Suva High Court.
Rawalai is charged with three counts of abuse of office and two counts of receiving a bribe and he appeared before Magistrate Makereta Mua this morning.
Defense Counsel Aman Ravindra-Singh however has not filed any application as yet.
Prosecution informed Court that it would be requesting additional time to serve second phase disclosures.
The matter has been adjourned to 16th May 2017 for second phase disclosures to be served and bail has been extended.
