Fiji’s envoy in New Zealand Filimoni Waqabaca is keeping tabs on the proposals for visa free travel to New Zealand.
The diplomatic mission knows this is a significant issue since discussions have already been held between Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and former New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.
Waqabaca is hoping for a positive outcome.
“We hoping that something good will come out of it and our people are also waiting and we know in good time and in due time depending on how things out in New Zealand and we hope that we will be able to get a respond.”
According to Waqabaca visa free travel to New Zealand will also boost local businesses."
A visa application currently costs about two hundred and seventy dollars and there are no refunds for people whose applications are rejected.
