The Fiji Roads Authority is pleading to the public to be patient as repairs of street lights is running behind schedule.
FRA Chief Executive, John Hutchinson says the FRA has finally recruited the successful contractor which will be looking after all street lights around the country.
“When you call up to say the street light out in front of my house isn’t working, don’t expect it to be fixed within 24 hrs, it will take 7-14 days, now I do ask for people’s patience because we do have a back log of work that might take a little bit longer.”
Hutchinson says the new contractor will also install an extra streetlight in every third power line to help pedestrians and motorists.
FRA is expected to also provide streetlights in rural road areas
