Three employees of Carpenters Properties Fiji Limited have been charged by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service for obstructing and removing tax officers from the MHCC Complex last month.
Complex manager, Kartika Karti Kumar and security officers, Joeli Tikomaiqameya and Sakiusa Bulivorovoro appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
The Court heard that on 3rd July the accused obstructed two Revenue and Customs tax officers by stopping and removing them from the shopping complex.
By doing so they prevented the officers from performing their duties under the Value Added Tax 1991 and the Income Tax Act 2015.
The charges were read to them in court and they said they understood the charges.
They were granted bail with a sum of $1,000 each.
The matter will be called for mention on 26th September.
