A Captain of a fishing boat from Asia who is allegedly failed to declare more than ten thousand dollars in his possession, to the authorities, appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.
Earlier this week, Wu Zhen entered the country on a fishing boat, with the money that he did not declare to immigration.
The court heard that police initiated an investigation where Zhen was arrested and charged with one count of failing to declare currency at the border.
Prosecutor Saneel Kumar strongly objected to bail as Zhen is a foreigner.
However, the Magistrates granted bail to the accused after he surrendered his passport with one surety.
Zhen will be sentenced tomorrow.
