516 cases against schools received by Education Ministry

More than five hundred complaints of mistreatment in school were raised with Education Ministry since August last year.
Education Human Resource Director, Timoci Tovoka says one of the major complaints involved bullying by school peers.
Tovoka says the statistics were received from August of last year to July this year.
“Of those 516 reported cases, the Central Division getting the highest number of reported cases. This is the reported cases that go against the children. Twenty five of the whole reported cases are against the children”
Association President, Miriama Naicegucegu says the Principal’s Conference which ended today has enabled school heads to work in line with the new government reforms.
Schools principals were also today reminded of their roles as points of contacts for students, teachers and parents.
More than 150 school principals were part of the 2 days conference.
