Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has raised concerns over statements made by member of Opposition Salote Radrodro regarding Fiji’s presidency of COP 23.
Sayed-Khaiyum says Fiji was asked by the United States along with other member countries to take up the presidency and adds this is due to the confidence these countries have in Fiji.
“This essentially signifies the great level of confidence that the International community has and also countries like the United States have in Fiji to actually put up our name for the presidency.”
Sayed-Khaiyum’s response comes after Radrodro said the Government is not inclusive when it comes to international delegations.
“This just goes to show that they have never been part of government, in previous governments both sides of the house go to international conferences. So that just goes to show the kind of people we have on that side of the house, they don’t know how to run the government.”
Sayed-Khaiyum is urging the opposition to look at this matter at a national and international level.
