LTA warns illegal operators

Illegal operators providing service as public transport vehicles continue to be a concern for the Land Transport Authority.
Chief executive, Carmine Piantedosi, says illegal operations produce negative and wide ranging impact on the effective operation of the public transport sector.
Piantedosi says passengers need to be away of the risks of using illegal operators.
He warns any operator suspected of conducting illegal operations within the public transport service sector may be liable to a penalty, have his/her license revoked – including having their vehicle de-registered of seized by the LTA.
Piatendosi says these operator should follow the proper process of applying for PSV permits.
The LTA Enforcement Team has stepped up its monitoring in suspected areas.
