The British Government is looking forward to welcoming Fijian Green Bonds onto the United Kingdom’s stock market.
Fijian Green Bonds are the first sovereign green bonds to be offered by a developing country anywhere in the world.
The bonds are only offered among an elite club globally, joined by Poland and France.
This was highlighted by UK Minister of State for Climate Change and Industry, Claire Perry, at a meeting with Prime Minister and COP23 President, Voreqe Bainimarama.
Minister Perry also commended Fiji’s leadership for the Conference of Parties 23.
The Minister also congratulated Fiji on becoming the first Small Island Developing State to take on a COP Presidency.
