Staff at the Lautoka Hospital are making every effort to maintain services following yesterday’s fire.
A team from the Health Ministry Head Office has been working alongside the management to ensure there are adequate supplies of essential items.
Additional oxygen cylinders and associated equipment have been transferred from Suva to replace the piped supply which is currently unavailable.
Negotiations are under way to arrange alternative X-ray services as well.
Specialist outpatient services are expected to begin operating from tomorrow for patients with appointments.
General outpatient services will remain suspended until further notice and patients are urged to go to nearby Health Centres.
A special 24-hour telephone helpline 623 0700 has been set up for any queries.
