Villagers of Nawaisomo and Raviravi on Beqa Island learnt about parliament for the first time following an outreach conducted by the Parliament Bus programme in the two villages this week.

The programme was able to shed more light about the role and functions of parliament to the villagers.

Information about the role of the Speaker, Standing Committees, Mace and the Composition of Parliament were some new facts that the villagers were made aware of for the very first time.

The outreach team also visited Rukua, Naiseuseu and Naceva Villages today as part of the ‘Parliament Bus’ Programme, aimed at informing all Fijians about the works of Parliament, its role and functions and how people can best engage their Parliament.
