Fiji’s first ever multimillion-dollar Aviation Academy will open next year in Nadi.
Fiji Airways Chief Executive, Andre Viljoen, says the cost of constructing the academy is ninety-five million dollars.
He says when the academy opens, pilots will not have to travel to Hawaii and Brisbane anymore for simulation training.
“This academy, the Fiji Aviation Academy will be the first in the Pacific and that includes Australia and New Zealand to house a full flight simulator for the Boeing 737 and it will also include a simulator for the Airbus A330 and this is indeed a bold step by Fiji Airways and the Fiji Government to create a world class Aviation Academy right here in Namaka, Nadi.”
Meanwhile, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum officiated at the ground breaking ceremony of the academy in Namaka.
