Fiji will soon be offering aviation education and training when its Aviation Academy opens.
Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen says the Academy will further boost Fiji’s status as the hub of the Pacific.
Viljoen says pilots from Australia and New Zealand will also be using the facilities offered by the Academy.
“Phase one for the Academy will be open for training by the end of March 2019, phase two will see the establishment of a flight school providing state of the art training devices and we already have the airbus training device and we will shortly acquire the Boeing one. By providing end to end pilot training in Nadi, Fiji Airways will increase the localization of pilots and ensuring that we provide a comprehensive career path for skilled Fijian pilots right here at home and phase three will see the establishment of a cabin crew training school.”
The ground works are expected to start next week.
