Taxi driver who allegedly hit COMPOL warned

The thirty-one-year-old taxi driver who allegedly hit Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho in Suva on Saturday has been warned.
The driver has been warned for prosecution for dangerous driving ocassioning bodily harm.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the driver is expected to be produced in court at a later date.
He is alleged to have overtaken Qiliho’s motorcycle while the Commissioner was trying to turn right into Central Street on his way to the Totogo Police station.
Qiliho pulled the brake to avoid the accident resulting in the motorbike veering off the road.
The Police Commissioner received minor injuries and was treated at the CWM Hospital.
