Westpac Bank of Fiji today launched the Women and Girls Education Grants for this year.
Bank General Manager, Brett Hooker says this has been an ongoing program since 2003 and Westpac Fiji is embarking on a bigger project for 2018 regarding the grants.
Hooker says the nine available grants are aimed at financially assisting women and girls to take positive steps towards fulfilling their educational potential.
“The successful grant recipient will receive funding towards their education costs. For Primary School award, the Grant is $400, for high school/secondary College, the grant is $1,000, and for tertiary students/adult workers who wish to return to study, the grant is $2,150.”
Application for the grants closes on the 8th of May.
Meanwhile the grant announcement was in line with the International Women’s Day Celebration.
