The wreckage of the Cessna 172 training aircraft belonging to the Pacific Flying School that crashed behind the Delaikoro Mountain last week has been recovered from the site and secured.

Independent Investigator, Andrew McGregor, says the wreckage was recovered successfully despite the difficult conditions, rugged mountainous terrain and the infavorable weather which delayed their work.

He says the recovery operation was made possible through the professionalism, skill, co-ordination and teamwork by the police, military and fire officers as well as the villagers of Dogoru.

The wreckage was airlifted to the assembly station at Dogoru village.

It was then loaded on trucks and transported to the Sukanaivalu Barracks in Vaturekuka where it will remain for the duration of the investigation.
