Speaker of Parliament, Dr Jiko Luveni terminated Opposition MP Parmod Chand’s speech in parliament today.
This is after Chand claimed that he was the only one in parliament that resides in Vanua Levu.
Minister for Employment, Jone Usamate then said that what Chand is saying is not true and that other people in parliament also reside in the North.
Dr Luveni then gave a chance to Chand to withdraw.
_"Honorable member you have made misleading statement, would you like to withdraw, that particular statement that you made that you are the only one representing Vanua Levu.
Chand: “I am talking about NFP, I am the resident member, withdraw.
Usamate: “That’s not a withdraw, this hand motion is not showing that this is a withdraw, it has to be a genuine withdraw.
Dr Luveni: “Honorable member I made a ruling and you deliberately, no no no it’s too late now, you’re too late and I am terminating your speech for now."
