Youth Techcamp starts tomorrow

The inaugural Youth Techcamp workshop for the Pacific will kick off at the University of the South Pacific tomorrow.
The workshop is a joint effort by the American Embassy and the PasifikaNEXUS.
US Ambassador Frankie Reed says, aims of the workshop are to enable the participants to contribute to policy development and better the connection technologies to make a positive impact.
“Techcamp Fiji will work with top local and international technology experts specializing in digital content creation, mobile application and social activism.”
Head of PasifikaNEXUS, Salanieta Tamanikaiwaimaro says, some of the aspects which will be covered, are child online protection and safe surfing.
“Apart from high school students we have university students and young professionals who work for various government and private sector organizations.”
Out of the 300 participants, one hundred are from Fiji.
