New health facilities opened so far

To enable the public to be provided with more efficient service and improved quality care, three health facilities have been opened last year to date
This was highlighted in the parliament by Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar.
Akbar says theses three facilities include the upgraded Lautoka Emergency Department and Operating theatre, newly constructed Makoi maternity unit and Waimaro health centre in Ra.
She says in addition new ambulances have also being supplied.
“As part of the government fleet we have 44 .Some of these ambulances are old and need maintenance on a regular basis, we also work with NFA, we also work with Fiji Corrections and Saint Johns in a provision of ambulance services.
Meanwhile Akbar says the much awaited Nakasi health centre will be opening soon.”
This will be followed by the extension on Koro Island and upgrades to the CWM Maternity unit.
