A Cardiac Surgery lab worth over three million dollars has been set at the CWM Hospital in Suva.
This lab will help heart surgeons perform surgeries with ease.
The machines were brought by Vijay Kapadia, a Cardiologist and his team who were in the country last week to perform surgeries on children with heart problems.
Kapadia who is based in Australia says this is a timely assistance for Fiji.
“This allows us to treat people beyond just medication and lifestyle as this is a foundation f our treatment for adult heart disease as well. There is so much more we can deliver by putting stands for diagnosing those patients who need by-pass surgery.”
Kapadia says a large number of Fijians need this sort of facility.
