The Fijian Government is assisting with burial costs for the two Fijians who died last week in a plane crash in Kenya.
According to a statement from the Christian Mission Fellowship International Church, the Fijian government is purchasing a block of land in Kitale, Kenya where the bodies of the late Pastor Sakaraia Mataka and his 15-year-old son Paula will be laid to rest on Friday.
Fiji’s Head of Mission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mosese Tikoitoga is facilitating the arrangements and will also be attending the funeral.
Pastor Mataka and his son were among eight other people who died on the ill-fated Cessna C2018 aircraft which is believed to have flown into a bad storm.
Pastor Mataka together with his family had been a missionary in Kenya for more than 10 years.
Meanwhile Kenyan media are reporting that a thorough investigation will be conducted into what led the horrific accident.
