Members of parliament wished each other well as the final parliament sitting came to an end last night.
The Fijian parliament has been adjourned to Sine Die after the 2018/2019 budget was passed on the last day of the debate week.
This marks the end of a successful four-year term of deliberations and heated exchange war-of-words in the August House.
Speaker of the House Dr Jiko Luveni acknowledged the contributions from the members of parliament.
”Honorable members as we draw near to another end of parliamentary term I would like to pay tribute to all those that have contributed to one way or the other to the official functioning of this house. And from me personally, I would’ like to thank you very much for the words of appreciation that I have received. It was a pleasure serving all of you.”
Leader of the government in parliament, Inia Seruiratu also acknowledged Dr Luveni for taking on a tough task as the first woman speaker of the House of Representatives.
