With an increase in violence against children cases, Child Helpline has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Women and Children today.
Medical Services Pacific Executive Director, Jennifer Poole says this commitment will strengthen the three-year partnership with the Ministry
Poole says those working at the Child Helpline not only take calls but also go out in the field to create awareness.
“While they are out there they visit schools and create awareness in the schools with children around child protection issues, they talk to children about their rights, and recognizing good touch bad touch and whom to report”
So far this year Child Helpline members have visited 80 schools and strengthened the teachers’ abilities to understand reporting pathways for child protection.
