Creating a legal framework and a standard operating procedure (SOP) is vital for our various Border Agencies.
Defence Ministry Director Timoci Natuva made the comments as various Border Agencies came together in a workshop today to map the way forward.
Natuva says there is a great need of a more integrated approach towards the surveillance of our boarders.
“This workshop is a table topping exercise to test all the legal issues because every individual agencies have their own legal issues in the way they do things.”
With the assistance of the Australian Border Force, Natuva says for the next two days participants will discuss ways to further strengthen Fiji’s border surveillance.
