The Fiji Human Resource Institute hosted their first briefing with chief executive officer’s from the public and private sectors in Suva today.
The briefing was an initiative by the Fiji Human Resources Institute which included Ram Bajekal of FMF as one of the key note speakers.
While speaking Ram says strategic Human Resources Management can assist in service delivery and enhance profitability in an organization.
“The biggest things that CEO’s need to do is engage them a lot more into the business decisions into the way the business runs, help them to understand their business get their hands dirty with actually running a few things because that’s the way they are actually going to connect better.”
He says it also looks at how an organization can translate business strategy into human resource objectives, which CEO’s and their HR’s need to work together to achieve.
This means the HR’s have an input at the business decision table.
Meanwhile, a similar briefing will be held in Nadi on the 26th of this month.
