A twenty-three-year-old man who robbed an accountant of Navua a year ago has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment by the Suva High Court today.

Josua Dobui had pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated robbery and one count of theft.

The court heard that on September 15th last year, Dobui and his accomplices entered the complainant’s home and stole assorted items valued at more than sixty thousand dollars.

While sentencing Dobui, High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo said he entered an early guilty plea and has saved Court’s time.

Dobui has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment with a non-parole period of seven years.

His two other accomplices have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
