Police CID Director SSP Mesake Waqa has ordered his team to look into claims of students taking ice or methamphetamine.

This comes after a post was raised on the Fiji Teachers Facebook page warning parents and teachers to be aware of this, that it’s colourless, doesn’t smell and irregular behaviour by students are the symptoms.

Claims are it costs $50 for a small pack and students are putting together their spending money to buy the illegal substance.

Parents and guardians have been advised to report suspected sellers in their area to the nearest police station before it’s too late for their children.

However, Police have confirmed there have been no such reports to date regarding this but the Criminal Investigations department are closely monitoring this.

Police are calling on the public who may have any information on this to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
