Avoid involving the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in political discussions.
This is the advice from the RFMF Chief of Staff Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai as debate heats up between various political parties.
Kalouniwai says the RFMF will maintain their core responsibility of upholding the law and supporting whatever government that comes into power.
“But as I said, we don’t want to get into any political mudslinging as much as we want to get out of the political discussions between political parties, we are a political and we hope we can move forward in that way”
Over the past few days some political parties have been mentioning about the involvement of RFMF in previous governments however Kalouniwai says there needs to be maturity in the way political parties discuss issues concerning the nation.
