The first ever Fiji Day celebrations organized by the _Fiji Broadcasting Corporation*_ was held at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.*
Gold FM Programme Director, Kara Koroi says the celebration was attended by hundreds of people who showed up wearing blue just to show the pride they have for their country.
Koroi says the turnout at the event was overwhelming as it was the first time for FBC to host such an event for Fiji Day.
”It was such a great occasion for everybody to come and hangout, we saw that there was an enormous sense of pride and patriotism amongst those who came in and it was so good.”
She also revealed that FBC chose Albert Park for the celebration as it was where it all started.
Meanwhile, FBC Team leader events Ruby Solanki says the event was even more special as the residents of old people’s home were part of the celebrations.
