Rumours of any political upheaval is common but the Republic of Fiji Military Forces will support any party that forms the next government.
This is the statement from the RFMF Chief of Staff Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai while speaking to FBC News.
Kalouniwai says before election there is always rumours of a political turmoil but the RFMF will ensure that Fijians are well protected and they can exercise their freedom to vote freely.
“You know those are rumours, it’s something that is a normal way of discussing these kind of things prior to every elections but the RFMF has maintained its position that it will remain apolitical and we will support the Fiji Police Force in its role and will maintain our stance of supporting the elected government that comes into power”
Kalouniwai confirms that the RFMF is also conducting training to its officers on ways to operate during elections so that law and order is maintained.
