Over 6,000 marijuana plants seized in Nadi

A raid conducted in the interior of Nasaua, Nadi on Thursday morning resulted in the seizure of more than 6,000 plants of marijuana.
The raid was conducted by officers from the Nadi Police Station.
A 23 year old man originally from Taveuni was arrested during the raid where the plants ranging from 10cm – 2m, more than 900 bullet size packs and a garbage bag of dried leaves was also seized.
The accused has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and one count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.
He will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court tomorrow.
